SESSION 1: Applied Behaviour Analysis – ABA with Dr. Nicole Neil, PhD

Certified Behaviour Analyst. She also serves as the Coordinator of the MPED in
Applied Behaviour Analysis. With a deep commitment to supporting individuals with
developmental disabilities, Dr. Neil’s work focuses on bridging research and practice to
develop effective, evidence-based behaviour strategies.
Her research is rooted in real-world application, working closely with local advocacy
groups, educators, and families to identify pressing challenges and implement practical
solutions. At this workshop, Dr. Neil will provide insights into understanding and managing
challenging behaviours, identifying triggers, and using both proactive and reactive
strategies to create supportive environments. Additionally, she will share her experiences
collaborating with educators to foster inclusive classrooms and strengthen family-school
partnerships.
Dr. Neil is passionate about making research accessible and ensuring families have
the tools they need to support their children’s success at home and in school. We are
honoured to have her share her expertise and practical guidance with our community.
