In this workshop, Heather will focus her discussion on Speech & Language Development for children with Down Syndrome.

A range of ages will be discussed, from very young children up to and including teenagers.

This workshop will include discussion about:

•  RECEPTIVE LANGUAGE SKILLS: comprehension of language and following directions.

• EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE SKILLS: vocabulary, increasing sentence length and complex language.
• SPEECH SKILLS: articulation and clarity of speech pronunciation.

Heather will be giving you practical ideas for ways you can help maximize your child's Speech and Language development at home.

Games, books, activities for at home practice will be discussed. There will be time to ask Heather questions particular to your child's Speech and Language development.
