We welcome WWDSS Members with Down syndrome of all ages to participate in a unique songwriting workshop to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). This year it's all about dancing in our socks! Join the fun, whether it be vocally, or through an instrument of your choice, the ringing of a bell, or the beat of a drum! This one hour workshop will fill up fast! This song will be later produced and featured at a WDSD virtual dance party on March 21st and will be used at our future events to celebrate our amazing organization and awesome members!
Join Alysha Brilla, 3X Juno Award Nominated music songwriter, music producer and art as therapy educator, for a virtual 60-minute creative songwriting session via Zoom, with assistance from Lori Maloney, WWDSS Member/Volunteer and Co-Owner & Facilitator at Our Studio.
By the end of this fun session, we will have our very own song, written together! This workshop offers a feeling of connection between participants, moments of laughter for the group and healing for the individual. Bring a paper and coloured pencils/crayons/markers for some of the creative prompts. Most importantly, bring your imagination. Previous experience is not required.
